A student team from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) recently won a gold prize at a digital economy innovation and entrepreneurship competition for university students from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The competition attracted over 200 teams from different parts of China. 13 teams from different universities, including the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, UM, and the Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai made it to the final.

The winning team were formed by five students, namely Yu Jiatong and Dong Luning, students of financial controllership; Shi Weijie, a student of accounting; as well as Xie Chun and He Yuchen, students of business economics. The team was led by Prof Matthew Liu Tingchi from the Department of Management and Marketing. Organised by the China Council for the Promotion of the International Trade Commercial Sub-council, the competition aimed to provide a platform for young entrepreneurs from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao to exchange ideas in order to nurture well-rounded individuals with practical skills in information technology.
