From December 2022 to February 2023, the faculty and students of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management won awards in the Global Collegiate Marketing Case Competition organized by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Foundation, and two teams supervised by Prof. Huiling Huang won the Second Prize for the Undergraduate Track and the Second Prize for the Graduate Track respectively. At the same time, given the outstanding contributions of students and faculty advisors, the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the University of Macau was also awarded as the Best Participating Institution.

Topic: Marriott Moxy in Mainland China – Identifying brand repositioning strategies and highlighting social space concept while seizing modern technology involvement focusing on GenZ.

  • Second Prize, Graduate Track

Student Team: Cody Cao (Leader), Wendi Song, Jane Wu, Serena Wang

Topic: Galaxy Macau – Deficiencies in language services hurt service expectations at a time when Galaxy Entertainment Group has committed MOP$28.4 billion for attracting overseas markets and non-gaming projects.

The goal of the Global Collegiate Case Competition is to establish a cross-institution platform for future hospitality leaders to showcase professional excellence, empower hospitality education through experiential learning and enable industry-academia collaborations to champion future hospitality leaders.
