On March 18, Prof. Soey Sut Ieng Lei, Assistant Professor of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, and students were invited to MGM Cotai to participate in the first Macau International Comedy Festival to experience the operation of the event.. The event was coordinated and organized by MGM Cotai’s Learning & Talent Development Department. The students had a job shadowing session to observe and learn about the operation of the event from the staff. This job shadowing activity provided a real-life situation for students to experience the process of organizing an event. It not only gave the students a better idea of what it takes to run a large-scale international event, but also helped them to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they may face as part of an event team. This experience will also encourage more students to participate in local mega events and raise their awareness of local international events.
