The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme provides participants with a broad business education by incorporating general learning experiences and cultivating technical knowledge and skills, ultimately enabling graduates to develop professionally and intellectually.

This programme offers five majors, including Business Economics, Financial Controllership, Global Business Management, Human Resource Management, and Marketing.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written English in business environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think analytically, critically and creatively in business administration.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of business ethics.
  • Demonstrate a global outlook in analyzing business issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in teams to tackle business challenges.
  • Possess sufficient knowledge in core areas in accounting, business economics, finance, management, marketing and quantitative methods and apply the knowledge in business administration.

Programme Objectives

This programme aims to prepare students for entering and sustaining careers in business administration.

More specifically, graduates of BBA will be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written English, to think critically and analytically, to gain ethical awareness in business, to have a global outlook, to think creatively, and to work effectively in teams to tackle business challenges. Students will acquire sufficient knowledge in core areas in accounting, business economics, finance, management, marketing and quantitative methods.

Programme Information

This is a four-year, full-time programme using English as a medium of instruction and has a deliberate international emphasis. In addition to the BBA students, many exchange students participate in the courses.

Admission Requirements

Admission will be in accordance with Admission Rules for Bachelor’s Degree Programmes of the University of Macau. Apart from the Admission Examination, applicants who possess public examination results or certain qualifications may apply to bachelor programme by Direct
Admission.

Curriculum

Students are required to obtain at least 126 credit units and successfully complete all the courses in the study plan. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above is required for graduation.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Economics

BBA in Business Economics offers training in economic theories, quantitative analysis and their business applications. This major enables students to acquire quantitative and communication skills, to excel in the theory and application of economic reasoning, and to obtain comprehensive and balanced knowledge in different areas of business economics. It provides students with the knowledge necessary for them to contribute to the decision-making process in business organizations and in the public sector. Graduates will be qualified to work as economic analysts, business economists, or at the management level in private or public institutions.

BBA in Financial Controllership combines a substantial general education element, a wide selection of business courses and a vigorous emphasis on accountancy and financial training. With in-depth training in both accounting and finance, the major provides students with preparation adequate to ensure that they meet future challenges brought about by an ever-changing environment.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Global Business Management

BBA in Global Business Management prepares students to deal with the new challenges that companies will face in the global economy. This is also a major for students who would like to pursue a career in multinational corporations. Students in this major are required to go abroad to study at our partner universities in Europe, North America, and Asia. The duration of the exchange is normally between 6-12 months.

In today’s business world, Human Resource Management (HRM) is a key managerial function for sustaining organizational success. BBA in HRM provides students with appropriate skills and techniques for managing employees in organizations. Students in this major will take courses in various HRM areas including planning and staffing, training and development, performance and compensation management, employee relations, strategic HRM, etc. As long as the profession requires human interaction, the knowledge and skills acquired by graduates of this major will be applicable.

Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing

Marketing consists of integrated activities that help organizations provide products and services to satisfy customers’ needs. BBA in Marketing provides students with a basic understanding of the role of marketing in organizations and society, a theoretical foundation of marketing knowledge, and practical skills in the formulation and implementation of marketing strategy. Careers for marketing graduates include but are not limited to brand management, advertising management, professional selling, retail management, marketing research, customer service, and public relations. All these allow opportunities for promotion to top-level positions in organizations. One can also choose to operate one’s own business. A combination of qualitative and quantitative skills is required to succeed in this major.
