More than 70 educators and professionals from around the world including China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, Australia, Canada, India, Greece, New Zealand, Switzerland and Bangladesh attended the conference to share their expertise and discuss the connection as well as interaction between accounting and AIS and explore the new perspectives for understanding and changes in the accounting discipline.

The conference featured four distinguished keynote speakers, namely Professor James OHLSON, Visiting Chair Professor of Accounting of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Professor In-Mu HAW, Visiting Chair Professor in Accounting of the University of Macau and J. Vaughn & Evelyne H. Wilson Professor of Business and Professor of Accounting of the Texas Christian University; Professor Jeong Bon KIM, Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Accountancy of the City University of Hong Kong; and Professor Patrick Y. The conference aims to bring together academics and practitioners worldwide to incubate and develop knowledge and ideas in the field of accounting. Papers are invited in the broad areas of financial accounting, management accounting, accounting education issues, auditing, corporate governance, management information systems, and taxation. The research could be Asia-centric or of global phenomenon. In 2009, 2011 and 2013, FBA had organized the 1st, 3rd and 4th WAFS respectively. Given the great success in the past conferences, we expect the series to become one of the most important accounting conferences to be held in Macao in the long run.
