In order to deepen local undergraduates’ understanding of the MICE industry and increase their desire to enter the industry, the President of Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention & Exhibition Industry, Mr. Lo Hong Chun, led a sharing session with members of the MICE industry at the University of Macau’s Wu Yee Sun Library recently.

Over 130 undergraduate and master’s students from the Department of International Integrated Resort Management attended the sharing session, including Amy So, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Director of the Centre for Tourism and Integrated Resorts Studies, and Associate Director of the Macau Research Centre, On Kei. Tang.

Mr. Lo explained to the students the recovery of the local MICE market and the industry support policies implemented by the SAR Government this year; Mr. Wong Tin Tak, Vice President of Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention & Exhibition Industry and Director of At Once Communication Limited, shared his company’s past experience in the construction of large-scale events; Mr. Lam Chin Yeung, a member of the Youth Committee of Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention & Exhibition Industry and CEO of Mind Blowing Film Culture Limited, explained to the students the various professional aspects of stage visual design.

Lastly, Mr. Grant Lou, Vice President of Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention & Exhibition Industry and General Manager of SO-IDEA Convention & Exhibition Consulting Co. Ltd. shared his experience in organizing a number of large-scale exhibitions after switching from the IT field. He also explained to the students the current development of exhibition activities in the Greater Bay Area and gave them advice on their future career plans as alumni.

After the sharing by the members of the chambers of commerce, the participating students were free to ask questions and exchange with the responsible persons of the enterprises attending the conference to understand the latest industry trends and future development.
