Abstract

Impulsive buying is a common consumer behavior that has long been seen as important for both brick-and-mortar and online retailers. However, the theoretical and empirical advancement of impulsive buying in the hospitality and tourism field is rather limited. In this event, we will briefly review the characteristics of impulsive buying in tourism and hospitality contexts and discuss some works has been conducted in the tourism and hospitality area. Then, we will suggest some directions for future research and marketing practice.

Short Bio

Prof. Stella Xing LIU received her PhD degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Her research interests are focused on consumer behavior in the tourist and hospitality industries, with an emphasis on: Service Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Consumer experience management, and Consumer identity. Prof. LIU has published papers in top-tier academic journals, such as Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, and Journal of Travel Research, etc.
