Abstract

The National Social Science Foundation (NSSF) is the most fundamental and well-recognized research foundation for social science in China. It is of great significance for scholars to conduct in-depth research, enhance academic impact, and serve the strategic national development. Based on my experiences of two successful applications for the NSSF, I will share some personal reflections on the preparation, topic selection, project positioning, research design, and other aspects related to the application. The aim is to provide advice and assistance to colleagues planning to apply for the NSSF in the year of 2024.
