On October 6, Professor Anthony Ip Kin WONG and Assistant Professor Huiling HUANG of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the University of Macau, as well as some doctoral and master students, attended the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau “Virtual Palace of Versailles Tour” exhibition event. The event was organized by Associate Professor Amy SO from the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the University of Macau. Mr. Engus Mou, Learning and Development Manager of Macau Grand Lisboa Resort, Ms. Betty Chang, Senior Manager of Exhibition Marketing and Brand Development Department, Mr. Kinsey Chu, Administrative Director of Guest Services Department, and Ms. Angelica Loi, intern of Learning and Development Department, led teachers and students to visit.

“Virtual Palace of Versailles Tour” is grandly exhibited at the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau as part of the “Art Macau” Macau International Art Biennale. In addition to using 3D technology to reproduce the construction layout of the palace in different periods, the exhibition also adopted Louis XIV’s favorite orange blossom to create a unique scent and used 360-degree projection technology to spectacularly present the iconic rooms of the Palace of Versailles, including the Mercury Room, the Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Opera House, etc., bringing multiple experiences as if you were there.

In this event, the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau introduced the development of the resort to the faculty and students of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the UM and invited the managers to give sharing speeches. After visiting the “Virtual Palace of Versailles Tour” exhibition, the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau also led teachers and students to visit hotel properties(eg. THE KARL LAGERFELD and Palazzo Versace Macau) and famous attraction – Jardim Secreto.

Through this event, faculty and students of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the UM gained a better understanding of the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau and the development of the hospitality & event industry in Macau. It also promoted exchanges between the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the UM and the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau.
