On March 10, 2026, Assistant Professor Huiling HUANG from the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management at the University of Macau invited Eric Chen, recruitment Manager of Galaxy Entertainment Group, to be the guest speaker for the Service Quality Management (IRTM3001) course. Using GEG as a case study, the lecture focused on integrated resort operations management, industry development trends, and youth career development, delivering an in‑depth sharing session that was highly practical, insightful, and closely aligned with industry frontiers.

The lecture began with a systematic introduction to the development history and organizational structure of GEG. Following that, the speaker elaborated on the group’s brand matrix and explained in detail its core business sectors—including hotels, F&B, leisure, and MICE—helping students gain a more comprehensive and intuitive understanding of the operating model and management system of an integrated resort.
Centering on GEG’s future development strategy, the lecture further explored the planning and concepts behind service innovation and business upgrading in large-scale leisure enterprises. Drawing on industry practices, the speaker shared strategic approaches that enable such enterprises to maintain core competitiveness and achieve steady growth amid intense market competition. The thorough explanations allowed students to appreciate how major leisure enterprises accurately capture market trends, take the initiative to lead industry development, and better understand the potential and dynamics of Macau’s tourism industry—thus deepening their professional knowledge and broadening their industry perspectives.

An interactive MBTI personality test session was specially designed, encouraging enthusiastic participation and creating an increasingly lively atmosphere. Mr. CHEN also analyzed job suitability and development directions based on different personality types, explaining departmental characteristics and competency requirements. He engaged in in‑depth discussions with students to help them recognize their strengths and identify suitable career pathways.
In the later part of the session, students learned about the latest GEG internship programs, including eligible departments, application requirements, job responsibilities, assessment methods, intern benefits, and salary structure. This comprehensive first‑hand information helped students clarify the application process and key points of job preparation, providing practical guidance for early career planning.

The lecture delivered by Galaxy Entertainment Group was rich in content and broad in perspective—covering corporate development insights, industry trend analysis, and internship planning guidance. It not only provided students with an effective platform to understand large-scale leisure enterprises and the workplace but also encouraged them to reflect deeply on future career development, offering strong guidance as they embark on their professional journeys.
