The University of Macau and Sun Yat-sen University held an online meeting on strategic cooperation and development on November 25, with the goal of deepening the partnership in innovative research, talent development, and student exchange. The meeting signified a new stage of cooperation between the two universities. In addition, the two universities signed an agreement on student exchange. According to the agreement, the two universities will actively launch student exchange activities, including semester exchanges and short-term exchange programmes, to capitalise on their respective educational characteristics and strengths and jointly nurture outstanding students. Both universities will work together to promote higher education development in the Greater Bay Area.
Prof. Miao Li, Head of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the Faculty of Business Administration, attended the meeting as a representative. The “China Tourism Education Alliance” was previously established by the University of Macau, Sun Yat-sen University, and other universities, and the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of UM and the School of Management of Sun Yat-sen University have established a basis for cooperation for student exchange activities. The signing of this agreement can more effectively promote the cultivation of high-quality tourism professionals in the two universities. Additionally, it will contribute to increasing the level and quality of cooperative innovation in tourism-related research.
