The University of Macau has achieved remarkable results in the latest ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023, with its Hospitality & Tourism Management discipline ranked 14th globally, 5th in Asia, 3rd in the Greater China area, and top 1st in Macao. The University of Macau’s consistent rise in global ranking within this subject is evident, starting from 42nd in 2020, improving to 25th in 2021, then to 22nd in 2022, and reaching 14th in 2023.This remarkable achievement emphasizes the strength and quality of our educational programs and academic research, underscoring our unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of tourism and hospitality management.

The Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management at the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau, was established in March 2019. In a mere four years since its establishment, the department has demonstrated exceptional teaching and research capabilities, making significant contributions to the tourism and hospitality industry. These landmark contributions have propelled this department’s ascent in the esteemed ShanghaiRanking.As a young and dynamic department, it remains committed to pursuing further achievements in research. Through a wide range of teaching and training programs, it aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders in integrated resort and tourism management, while also contributing to the sustainable development of the industry and community locally, regionally, and globally.
