The Master of Science in Accounting programme at the University of Macau (UM) has received professional accreditation from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), granting its graduates a maximum exemption of 10 papers .
According to the latest accreditation information from UM”s Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), the programme has successfully obtained recognition from HKICPA. Graduates are now eligible for the maximum exemption of 10 papers under the HKICPA qualification programme, significantly streamlining the pathway to obtaining the Hong Kong CPA designation .
MSc in Accounting programme also holds accreditations from other leading bodies, including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), which offers a maximum exemption of 9 papers, and CPA Australia, which provides a maximum exemption of 6 papers .
The accreditation enhances the programme”s value for students aiming for international careers, particularly those looking to practice in Hong Kong. The HKICPA qualification is highly regarded and also offers mutual recognition exemptions with the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA).
