The University of Macau, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), has officially received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education. It is the first and only educational institution in Macao to receive this accolade. With the attainment of this prestigious accreditation, FBA now joins an exclusive group of Business Schools (less than 1.3% in the world) that have gained both AACSB and AMBA accreditations – two of the world’s top business education accreditations.
AMBA accreditation symbolises the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and is earned by only the highest-quality postgraduate management programmes. Fewer than 300 business schools, representing the top 2% in the world, are awarded an AMBA accreditation. AMBA’s rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the best programmes which demonstrate the highest standards in teaching, curricula, and student interaction achieve AMBA accreditation.
Professor Song, Rector of the University of Macau, said: “I must congratulate FBA in achieving this important international business school accreditation in a highly efficient way. This is a testimony of FBA’s excellence in business education and its impact to the society. It has also demonstrated that FBA is advancing very quickly towards achieving its vision of becoming a model international elite business school.”
Professor Jean Chen, Dean of FBA, added: “Obtaining AMBA accreditation is another milestone of FBA since earning an AACSB accreditation in February this year. It is an exemplary indication of our efforts in internationalisation. This has placed us on the same platform as the world’s elite business schools and significantly enhanced our opportunity to collaborate with prestigious business schools worldwide. Furthermore, AMBA has now adopted a new policy which only accredits up to 300 business schools in the world. We have caught a golden opportunity to advance our journey to becoming a triple-crowned business school in the world.”
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the AMBA and Business Graduates Association (BGA), commented: “We are very proud to welcome the University of Macau, Faculty of Business Administration, to the AMBA accredited business school family. So far, AMBA has accredited 270 of the world’s leading business schools and it is to FBA’s great credit that they have become the first Macau school to achieve AMBA international accreditation.”
