Recently, Associate Professor Amy Siu Ian SO of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management led the students to attend the Internship Recruitment Briefing of Sheraton Grand Macao and St. Regis Macao. The event aimed to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about the hotel industry and the actual working environment, as well as to provide reference for their future career planning.
During the event, the hotel representatives firstly introduced the basic profiles of Sheraton Grand Macao and St. Regis Macao. At the same time, they also introduced the internship programs of the two hotels, including internship positions, learning and growth opportunities during the internship period, as well as the Global Voyage Leadership Development Program. Afterwards, the outstanding representatives of the Global Voyage Leadership Development Program shared their internship experiences and insights with the students. Through their sharing, the students gained a more concrete understanding of the internship life, as well as a clearer plan and expectation for their future development. These valuable sharing not only encouraged the students to participate in the internship more actively, but also pointed out the direction for their future career development.
At the final stage of the briefing, the students were honored to visit the interior environment of Sheraton Grand Macao and St. Regis Macao and had an in-depth field trip to various departments of the hotels. They were able to understand the hotel operation at a close distance and gained a deeper understanding of the charm and challenges of the hotel industry. In the process of communicating with the persons in charge of different departments, the students also actively asked questions and gained more practical working experience and vocational skills.
