Alumni Profile

Established in 2019, the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management is one of the signature disciplines of the University of Macau. The Department is young and energetic, and in recent years has already demonstrated strong talent cultivation and research capabilities, making outstanding contributions to the development of the tourism and hospitality industry. The Department was ranked 14th in the field of “Hospitality & Tourism Management” in the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking 2023, and ranked among the top 100 in the world in the QS World University Rankings in the field of “Hospitality and Leisure Management”.

To date, the Department has produced nearly 800 undergraduate graduates and nearly 450 master’s and doctoral graduates. Some of the graduates continue to pursue academic excellence and choose to study at world-renowned universities such as the University of Toronto, EHL Hospitality Business School, National University of Singapore, University of Manchester, University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University. At the same time, many graduates choose to work in well-known leading enterprises, government departments and universities. Among them, some of the graduates have worked in organizations such as the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau Macao SAR, Sands China, Wynn Macau, and University of Macau, contributing to the innovation and development of Macau’s local industries. Graduates who have moved to the mainland have also shown outstanding talent and leadership in Tencent, Honor, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University, and other organizations.

Many alumni of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management have also maintained close ties with the alma mater and actively participated in activities such as guest sharing of departmental courses or organizing corporate field trips. The involvement of these alumni has further strengthened the close ties between the university and the industry, providing valuable learning opportunities and career development support for current students.
