The undergraduate students who admitted in Academic Year 2021/2022 have reached an important milestone of their study at UM – It is the time to declare the specialization!

In order to provide more information about the two specializations (Gaming Management & Conversation and Hospitality Management), the briefing of specialization declaration was hosted on 21 September, 2022 at the E22-G013. After experiencing the UM freshman year and the online courses for over a month this semester, the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management (DRTM) organized this offline briefing specifically for the year 2 undergraduate students to start a new journey through university life.

The briefing started with a warm greeting by Prof. Li MIAO, Head of DRTM, she welcomed the students back to campus and congratulated them on becoming sophomores. Prof. Davis FONG followed, providing a succinct overview of the study plan on Gaming Management. He truly hoped that students would carefully consider their areas of interest and, over the course of the next few years of study, they will gain a thorough grasp of the gaming and tourism industries, not just in Macau but also globally. Prof. Amy SO then presented examples of how students specializing in Convention and Hospitality Management might evolve in the future and gave advice about exploring the limitless potential to adapt to various job types after graduation. Other than the orientation, these professors also shared their insights on how students could advance in this profession and what they should pay attention to  in the following study and internship. All their recommendations are valuable. It is believed that the students will be able to earn lifelong and valuable experiences from these courses provided by DRTM.

The briefing ended with the introduction of the application procedure and Q&A session. All attended students are able to learn more about the specializations. They are eager to begin a successful semester and are also enthused about the variety of learning opportunities in the future.
