Recently, Prof. Amy Siu Ian SO, Assistant Dean (International and External Relations) of the Faculty of Business Administration, Director of the Center for Tourism and Integrated Resort Studies, and Associate Professor of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, on behalf of the Department, invited several guests from the MICE industry in Macau to share with students the current situation and prospect of the MICE industry in Macau.
The main objective of the seminar was to help students better understand the MICE industry and the future career opportunities, and at the same time to provide a platform for enterprises to showcase their strengths and attract outstanding talents. Several guests from different professional fields of Macau’s MICE industry introduced their experiences, business scope and future opportunities in the MICE industry through on-site presentations, laying a solid foundation for students who intend to enter the MICE industry in the future. Guest speakers included Mr. Lo Wang Chun, president of the Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention and Exhibition Industry, Mr. Wong Tin Tak, president of the Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention and Exhibition Industry, Mr. Che Fok Sang, director general of the Macau Federal Commercial Association of the Convention & Exhibition Industry, Mr. Lou Kam Fai, President of Association of Advertising Agents of Macau, and Mr. Chan Chi Hong and Mr. Au Yeung Yat Wah, Youth Committee members of the Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention and Exhibition Industry.
In order to help students better understand the MICE industry and the future job opportunities in the industry, the guests from the MICE industry not only shared some of their experiences in the sharing session, but also provided professional guidance and advice on the industry. At the end of the seminar, they had a face-to-face exchange with some students who wanted to know more. The sharing of experience was not only a useful guide for the students to find a job, but also an excellent opportunity to get in touch with industry professionals.
