Prof. Li MIAO, Head of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the University of Macau, and and other faculty members were invited to Zhuhai Chimelong. The purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration between the university and the company on industry practice and talent development. Mr. Minling JIANG and Ms. Li HE welcomed the group and attended the seminar alongside other leaders from Chimelong Group.
Chimelong Group was established in 1989 in Guangzhou and has since developed two major tourist destinations, Guangzhou Chimelong and Zhuhai Chimelong. The latter consists of several attractions such as Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, Chimelong Hengqin International Circus City, The Chimelong Theater, Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel, Marine Science Hotel Chimelong, Chimelong Penguin Hotel, Chimelong Circus Hotel and Chimelong Yinghai Hotel and Apartments. These attractions create a comprehensive marine-themed tourism experience that includes theme parks, hotels, cultural performances, exhibitions, dining venues, and leisure activities.
At the seminar, Mr. Shiping CHEN shared the history of Chimelong Group, the Group’s vision of “TO BE THE WORLD-CLASS CULTURE AND TOURISM BRAND” and the mission of “CREATE JOY DELIVER HAPPINESS”. He also discussed the ongoing construction of the new project and the Group’s plans for future development. Additionally, Prof. MIAO spoke about the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management. She highlighted new opportunities for talent cultivation and research collaboration between schools and enterprises.
Following the seminar, Prof. MIAO gave gift to the enterprise representatives and the visiting group had the chance to visit the whale shark aquarium at the resort. This experience strengthened the relationship between the two groups and facilitated school-enterprise partnerships for Macau universities in the In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. It also established a solid foundation for future collaboration in experiential teaching, talent development, and academic research.
