Online Special Issue Conference on
‘Accounting, Auditing and Corporate Governance in China’
6-7 June 2020
Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau and the Accounting Development and Research Centre, Peking University jointly organize and run the Abacus Special Issue Conference on ‘Accounting, Auditing and Corporate Governance in China’ during 6-7 June 2020 online. This conference and subsequent special issue focus on accounting and auditing and their interface and interactions with corporate governance in transition and emerging economies like China. Abacus is a leading international accounting journal.
Professor Jean Chen, Dean of Faculty of Business Administration and Chair Professor in Accounting and Finance at University of Macau, Professor Qiao Liu, Dean of Guanghua School of Management at Peking University and Professor Stewart Jones, Professor in Accounting at University of Sydney and Editor-in-Chief of Abacus will give welcome speeches at the opening session.
About 30 high quality papers from around the globe will be presented after rigorous selection. There will also be two keynote speeches. The first keynote speaker is Professor Tak-Jun (TJ) Wong, the Joseph A. DeBell Professor of Business Administration and Professor of Accounting at USC Marshall Business School. He is currently an associate editor of Management Science and was an editor of The Accounting Review, the very top management and accounting journals worldwide. The second keynote speaker is Prof. Weiguo Zhang, a former member of International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), which is the most important international accounting standard setting body in the world, and currently adjunct professor in accounting at Tsinghua University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
Professor Liansheng Wu, Guanghua School of Management, Peking University and Professor Jason Xiao, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau and Associate Editor of Abacus will chair and organize the conference and edit the special issue.

Colleagues at FBA are welcome to participate in sessions of your own choice or the whole conference. Participants are required to register by emailing their name, title, and affiliation to the following email address: abacus@gsm.pku.edu.cn. Please specify “Registration – Abacus Special Issue Conference” as the subject heading of the registration email. Participation and registration are free, but will be on a first come first served basis due to the limited number of places, and participants will be notified in due course whether the registration is successful. The participants will be given instructions on how to access the online meeting.
