The Business Research and Training Center (BRTC) of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) successfully conducted a comprehensive training program on IFRS 10 – Consolidated Financial Statements on May 17 and 24, 2025, at the university campus. The sessions were designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the principles and application of IFRS 10, a critical standard for financial reporting.

The training was led by academic professional, Professor Mary Chai, from the University of Macau. It covered key aspects of IFRS 10, including topics such as the concept of control and its role in consolidation, identifying subsidiaries and preparing consolidated financial statements, special cases and exemptions under IFRS 10, and practical examples and challenges.

The training aimed at equipping participants with the necessary skills to navigate IFRS 10 effectively. Participants, including accounting professionals, auditors, audit firm partners, financial controllers, and analysts, gained valuable insights into the complexities of consolidation under IFRS. Interactive discussions and real-world examples ensured an engaging learning experience throughout the training sessions.

The BRTC and CPC plan to organize further specialized training programs to support professional development in the accounting field. Through such activities, they are committed to promoting the application of International Financial Reporting Standards, cultivating more high-quality professional talents for Macau’s modern financial industry, and adding momentum to Macau’s economic diversification.
