On 23 April 2025, the University of Macau (UM) celebrated the 2024 Suggestion Scheme Annual Awardees, recognizing two professors from the Department of Management and Marketing for their exceptional contributions to improving the university community. Prof. Chanthika Pornpitakpan, Associate Professor in Management, was honored as the “Most Active Suggestion Submitter (Staff Group),” while Prof. Javier Calero Cuervo, Associate Professor in Management, received the “Outstanding Suggestion Submitter (Staff Group)” award. These accolades were determined through a rigorous assessment by UM’s Suggestion Scheme Assessment Panel, reflecting the professors’ dedication to fostering positive change.
Prof. Pornpitakpan shared that her motivation stemmed from a desire to enhance the academic and operational environment at UM. “I submitted suggestions to streamline processes and support our students and staff, believing small ideas can spark meaningful impact,” she said. Similarly, Prof. Javier Calero Cuervo, known for his innovative approaches to management education, aimed to strengthen UM’s collaborative culture. “My suggestions were driven by a commitment to contributing positively to UM’s communities,” he noted.
The UM Suggestion Scheme encourages staff to propose creative solutions to enhance university operations, and both professors exemplified this spirit through their thoughtful and impactful ideas.
