Congratulations to Miki Lei, the outstanding alumnus of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management and Internal Audit of The Venetian Macao, for her academic and business competition achievements!
Miki Lei graduated from the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management in 2023 and delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony as the representative of the outstanding graduates. Recently, under the guidance of Assistant Professor Prof. Huiling HUANG and Assistant Professor Fiona Xi YANG of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, her paper, titled ” When and why do cuteness cues intensify the power of message framing in promoting pro-environmental behaviors?”, which she authored as the first author, has been accepted and published in the International Journal of Hospitality Management, one of the top-tier journals.

In addition, Miki Lei also participated in the recently held Asia Pacific Business Events Youth Challenge 2024. As a Macao Innovate^2 (square) team member, she demonstrated outstanding performance and helped the team win the championship in the Young Professionals Division. This is also the first time that Macau has won the championship in this competition. The competition was jointly organized by the ICCA, the Korea MICE Association, and the Daejeon Metropolitan City, attracting top university students and young MICE industry elites from countries such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, and others.
Miki Lei was overwhelmed by her victory in the competition: “Hard work pays off! This trip was more of a cultural exchange than a competition, and I am honoured to have exchanged ideas with talented young people from different countries. Whether in my studies or work, I have always been committed to enhancing my own qualities, fully leveraging the synergy between industry, academia, and research, and becoming a professional business advisor in the industry, so that more people in the world can see Macau.”
