On September 19th, University of Macau successfully received the “Malaysian Chinese Independent Secondary School Students’ Study Tour to Macau” organized by the United Chinese School Committees’ Association of Malaysia. 40 high school students from Malaysia, including the accompanying staff, visited UM to gain an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of Macau’s hospitality and tourism disciplines and to provide them with a new direction and choices for their future study paths.

During the event, accompanied by Ms. Kiran Lei, Global Affairs Office, Ms. Anita Fu, Global Affairs Office, Prof. Huiling Huang, Assistant Professor of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, and relevant staff members of the University of Macau, the students visited the University Gallery (UG), the Residential College, and the Faculty of Business Administration, among other teaching spaces.

In addition, the faculty also organized a briefing session for the students on the study tour. As the representative of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, Prof. Huiling HUANG introduced the curriculum, teaching features and future development prospects of the department to the students, while Ms. Anita Fu provided information about the International Student Scholarship at the end of the session.

The event not only enabled the students to have an intuitive understanding of the higher education environment in Macau, but also stimulated their interest in planning their future academic careers, thereby attracting more outstanding Malaysian students to further their studies in Macau, and jointly promoting educational and cultural exchanges between the two places.
