On October 26th, Mr. Mike Lei, Assistant Vice President of Slot Operations of MGM MACAU, was invited to be the guest speaker of Prof. Soey Sut Ieng LEI’s class. He gave a guest lecture on “Slot Industry Development in Macau” in the GESB1004 Development of Games and Gambling course.
Mr. Mike Lei first shared his views on the overall gaming industry in Macau and outlined the changes and development of the industry over the years. In this lecture, he focused on the history of slot machines and how slot games have evolved in Macau casinos. Mr. Mike Lei introduced some basic concepts of operating slot machines to the students, and discussed the potential of integrated entertainment experiences supported by advanced technologies in the future. Finally, Mr. Lei emphasized the importance of compliance with the laws and regulations of the Macao SAR Government in the operation and management of slot machines, which is one of the most important elements to ensure the sustainable development of the industry. Through Mr. Mike Lei’s sharing, students gained a deeper understanding of the future of the gaming industry, and actively asked questions during the Q&A session. Mr. Mike Lei patiently answered their questions and encouraged them to think about the gaming industry’s future.
The lecture further promoted the students’ understanding of the gaming industry, stimulated their academic exploration of gaming industry research, and inspired them to think about the future of the gaming industry.
