FBA Lecture Series “Identity theories in tourism: examples and challenges” was hosted by Prof. Lawrence Hoc Nang FONG, Associate Professor in Integrated Resort and Tourism Management on January 15, 2025 and Prof. Xiaoyue ZHANG, Associate Professor in Business School, University of Nottingham, UK was invited to deliver the seminar.

In recent ten years, identity theory has been paid more and more attention in tourism research, but its influence is still limited. In this lecture, Prof. Xiaoyue ZHANG focused on the identity theory, not only presenting her unique insights and preliminary observations on the theory, but also building a communication platform for the in-depth exploration of the identity theory in the tourism industry through the analysis of relevant research results and examples. At the end of the lecture, Prof. Xiaoyue ZHANG also answered the relevant questions of the attendees one by one, which further stimulated the academic discussion and thought collision on the spot.
