We warmly welcome two outstanding new professors to the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management in the 2023 academic year. Their expertise and experience will have a positive impact on the quality of teaching and research in the department. The arrival of the two professors will not only enhance the reputation of the department as a whole, but will also provide students with a wider range of research directions and opportunities.
Professor Soey Lei, Assistant Professor in International Integrated Resort Management, obtained her Ph.D. degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining UM, Prof. Lei served as a Lecturer at Macao Institute for Tourism Studies. Her current research focuses on Smart Tourism, Service Innovation, Service Design, Personalized Experience, and Human-Technology Collaboration. Prof. Lei has published papers in top-tier academic journals such as Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. She is currently serving on several editorial boards including Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Journal of Vacation Marketing, and International Journal of Tourism Cities.

Professor Stella Xing Liu, Assistant Professor in International Integrated Resort Management, obtained her PhD degree in Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration from Fudan University. Prior to joining UM, Prof. Liu served as a teaching assistant at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2019 to 2023. Her research interests focus on service technology such as service robot and artificial intelligence, consumer experience management, and consumer identity. Prof. Liu was awarded the Postgraduate Research Output Award of 2022 in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has published in top-tier journals in both marketing and tourism/hospitality areas, such as Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, and Marketing Letters.
