Based on data from the Scopus database, the list evaluates scientists using six citation metrics including Total citations, H-index, and Hm-index. It identifies the top 2% of scientists globally from nearly 7 million researchers, across 22 fields and 174 subfields. The Single-Year Impact list focuses on academic performance over the past year, while the Career-Long Impact list assesses contributions over an entire career. Being selected into the top 2% of the world’s top scientists means that the scholar has a high global influence in his research field and has made outstanding contributions to the development of this field.
