This panel session helps PhD students gain insights from senior students who have navigated the challenges of doctoral life. The discussion will address key aspects of the PhD journey, including research topic selection, time management, collaboration, career planning, and overcoming setbacks. Senior students will share personal experiences, lessons, and tips for balancing academics with life. Whether you’re starting or deep into your PhD, this session provides a chance to hear real stories, ask questions, and gain valuable perspectives on maximizing your PhD experience.
Speaker Bio
Sunny Zhenzhen NONG is a fifth-year PhD candidate specializing in sensory marketing, consumer behavior, and sustainability in hospitality and tourism. She is currently focusing on thesis data analysis and writing and has teaching experience at both public and private universities.
Ivy Huiyue YE is a fourth-year PhD candidate specializing in smart tourism and wellness tourism. She holds a degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and has worked as a research assistant at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a lecturer at Heyuan Polytechnic University.
Tiger Chunlin CHEN is a fourth-year PhD candidate researching gaming industry regulation, CSR in integrated resorts, and gambler behavior. With a background in accounting and finance, he previously worked as an equity analyst and institutional sales at a securities firm in mainland China.
