The Business Research and Training Center (BRTC) of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), University of Macau (UM), successfully completed a series of trainings for the Macau Certified Public Accountants on four consecutive Saturdays in May 2022. After the success of the first series conducted from October to November 2021, the BRTC was again invited by the Professional Committee of Accountants (CPC) to conduct a professional training program on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This series covers six related standards of IFRS and has attracted 50 practitioners of both public and private accounting, including senior managers from accounting firms, financial institutions, gaming industry and government departments.
With the implementation of the new Macau IFRSs in March 28, 2020, both CPC and BRTC aim to organize more similar trainings in the near future to cover various aspects of the IFRSs to ensure practitioners are provided with the updated accounting knowledge and a more thorough understanding concerning the new IFRSs adopted in Macau.
