“The 1st Summer Camp for Outstanding Mainland Undergraduate Students”  organized by the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), University of Macau was successfully completed in UM campus. This event aims to expand the influence of the University of Macau in the Mainland and to select doctoral students with research potential for FBA. Over 200 undergraduates of top mainland universities applied for the Summer Camp, after comprehensive evaluation and rigorous selection, a total of 20 students from top universities in the mainland were admitted, including from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Beijing Normal University and Nankai University etc. The event paved the way for mutual understanding between business administration doctoral programme applicants and doctoral supervisors for engaging in a two-way interactive communication.

The four-day summer camp programme featured thematic lectures with key research projects in various fields to students, such as “Digitalization and Impact of Business and Management” and ”The ethics, responsibility and sustainable development of resort management” with some hot topics such as business administration in accounting intelligence, financial technology, big data analysis and decision sciences, digital management, digital marketing and customer behavior, responsible gaming, tourism management and The latest developments and achievements in frontier fields such as neuroscience. The UM Graduate School also introduced PhD programme admission scheme, PhD Assistantship, scholarships and employment prospects etc.

The students said that they become very interested in the doctoral programme in FBA after attended the summer camp. Participants were involved in communication with potential doctoral supervisors and current doctoral students and laid a good foundation for direct application and admission. They recognized the academic status and learning environment in UM, and expressed appreciation for the harmonious teacher-student relationship of the FBA. Some of the participants began to apply for the early admission of PhD Programme through the website of UM Graduate School, and they are very much looking forward to joining the UM doctoral programme.
