Recently, a group of students led by Prof. Anthony Ip Kin WONG conducted a field trip to MGM Cotai. The event was jointly led by Mr. Samuel Lei, Director of Casino Talent Development of MGM, and Ms. Chloe Wong, Assistant Director of Learning and Development of MGM. It is worth mentioning that Ms. Chloe Wong is an alumnus of the DRTM, and her careful assistance and arrangement of this event made it possible to run smoothly and further strengthen the close relationship between the university and the enterprise.

During this event, students had the unique experience of visiting the Table Games Training Department. Mr. Samuel Lei gave the students a personal tour and introduced the rules and regulations of table games and how to conduct professional training for staff. Under Mr. Samuel Lei’s guidance, the students combined the theoretical knowledge of gaming management and customer service that they had learned in the classroom with the actual operations of the casino, thus realizing the transformation from theories to practices.

In addition, students went on field trips into the integrated resort’s back of house areas led by Ms. Chloe Wong. They not only learned about the various aspects of the daily operation of the resort but also experienced how the logistics team ensures the efficient and orderly operation of the resort. From the operation mechanism of each department to the maintenance of facilities to the management of personnel, every detail made the students deeply feel the complexity and professionalism of the integrated resort operations.

The visit not only deepened the students’ understanding of professional knowledge and broadened their horizons in the industry, but also allowed them to feel the diversity and challenges of the resort field more intuitively in practice.
