On April 26th, the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management organized students to participate in the 13th Macao International Tourism (Industry) Expo, exploring new trends in the industry’s development in this grand cultural and tourism event. This expo is hosted by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Tourism Bureau. The 13th MITE is held at Cotai Expo of the Venetian Macao from 25 – 27 April 2025.
Under the theme of “Explore MITE, Experience the World”, MITE has established a global platform for integrating cultural and tourism resources by creating six highlights. It has attracted tourism enterprises and governmental entities from over 60 countries and regions to participate. The highlights are as follows: “deepening cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative to expand global cultural and tourism business opportunities”; “a trinity of flavors: Macao City of Gastronomy with a charm of diversity flavors”; “empowering tourism through the 15th National Games: immersion in sports culture”; “multi-venue event in Macao and Hengqin: merging education with travel to enrich cultural tourism”; “Halal Horizons Pavilion opens new clientele and Muslim-friendly certification sparks opportunities”; “technology-driven smart expo promoting sustainable goals for a low-carbon future”.
To ensure that students can fully participate and have a thorough understanding of the MITE content, it has specially provided convenient shuttle bus services. Meanwhile, professional staff were arranged to conduct on-site guided Tours. With their rich industry knowledge and vivid explanations, they enabled the teachers and students to have a deep understanding of the historical context, current situation and future trends of the development of culture and tourism in the world and Macao.
