To enhance the teaching effectiveness and improve the quality of teaching for our colleagues, the Department of Accounting and Information Management (AIM) successfully hosted its annual AIM Teaching Day 2024 on 30 October 2024, from 14:00 to 17:00 at E22-G015. The event featured three distinguished speakers who shared their insights on the future of accounting education, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees. The event began with a warm welcome speech by Dean YU, who was invited to set the positive tone for the afternoon. Dean YU also presented certificates of appreciation to the three distinguished speakers.

Prof. George Yong YANG, Professor and Director at the School of Accountancy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), provided a thought-provoking session on the topic of “Reflection on How to Teach Accounting in The New Technology Era”, integrating new technologies into accounting education. His reflections emphasized the need for innovative teaching methodologies to prepare students for the evolving accounting landscape.

Prof. Katrine K. WONG, Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement at the University of Macau, captivated the audience with her insights on the transformative potential of generative AI on the topic of “Leveraging Generative AI for Teaching and Learning Activities”. She highlighted practical applications and strategies for incorporating AI tools to enhance both teaching and learning experiences.

Mr. Adrian CHONG, Policy Manager at ACCA, inspired attendees with his discussion on the importance of innovation and integration in accounting practices by given his sharing on” Inspire, Innovate, Integrate: Shaping Tomorrow’s Accountants”. His session encouraged educators to foster a forward-thinking mindset in their students, ensuring they are well-prepared to lead in the future accounting landscape.
