Objective
The internship for Accounting Function I and II provides practical internship opportunities for students to practice accounting knowledge and business management skills in an accounting-related working environment while they are still in university. Students will gain valuable working experience, establish personal networks, and expand career options.Note:For students prior to B7 intakes (exclusive), this internship course would be counted toward FE graduation requirement.For B7 and onwards, students in Professional Accountancy specialization must complete paired courses ACCT3006 Internship for Accounting Function I and ACCT3007 Internship for Accounting Function II or ACCT4001 Accounting Theory in order to fulfill the Required Electives in Group A.

This course is designed to provide a broad exposure to the operations of Accounting and knowledge of the structure, goals and work procedures participating in guided observations and activities. This course with internship component is limited to year three students who are majoring in the Professional Accountancy and Accounting and Information Systems. Students of the course are supervised directly by professionals in organizations who communicate directly with the course coordinator. While each learning experience will differ depending on the type of organization, situation and duration, course coordinator will guide and assist students through their profession-oriented learning experience. At the end of the internship, each student is able to embark on a career with hands-on industry experience. | |
Pre-requisite: ACCT2001 Intermediate Accounting I with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and approval from the course coordinator |
