Purpose

The APacCHRIE 2027 International Academic Conference will be held at the University of Macau in 2027. As an authoritative conference in the field of tourism and hotel management in the Asia Pacific region, the theme of APacCHRIE 2027 is “Tourism+ Making an Impact for Now and Tomorrow.”

Therefore, we are pleased to launch a logo and mascot design competition to visually represent the spirit of the conference. We look forward to all works that not only convey the core concept of “Tourism+”—creating impact both now and tomorrow—but also skillfully integrate Macau’s unique culture and highlight the distinctive image of the University of Macau and its Faculty of Business Administration. The selected design works may become the official logo and/or mascot (fully or partially) for APacCHRIE 2027 and may be widely used on conference brochures, the official website, merchandise, and all promotional materials.

Eligibility

  1. Participants: Targeting all current students of the University of Macau (including all undergraduate and graduate students).
  2. Participation Format: Both individuals and teams can participate, and the number of team members cannot exceed 5.

Work Requirements

  1. Content
  • The work should revolve around the theme of “Tourism+ Making an Impact for Now and Tomorrow” and incorporate elements of Macau’s local culture, as well as the distinctive image of the University of Macau and its Faculty of Business Administration.
  • The design style is unrestricted. The work should demonstrate a vivid image, rich connotation, and possess strong artistic value and scalability. It must also be suitable for application across diverse media, such as online promotions, printed materials, and peripheral products.
  1. Design Specifications
  • The work must be in color. Any text incorporated into logos or mascots must be in English.
  • Mascot work must include a complete four-sided design (including the front, back, left and right sides).
  1. Submitted Documents
  • Logo Draft: A4 Size, in JPEG or PNG format, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
  • Four-Sided Design Draft of the Mascot: A4 Size, in JPEG or PNG format, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
  • Introduction of the design: Name the logo and mascot separately, and attach a 50-100 word description of the design concept (in either Chinese or English).
  • Process Documents: You must provide editable source files (such as AI, PSD, etc.) and attach at least one document proving the creative process (such as photos of the creative process, sketches, etc.).
  • AI Usage Declaration Form: Submit one “AI Usage Declaration Form.” Please refer to the attached document for details.

Note: Each team is required to submit one logo and one mascot design. Submitting only one of two cannot be considered a complete evaluation.

How to submit

  • Pre-competition briefing session: Both registered and unregistered students, whether participating individually or as a team (representatives are allowed), are welcome to attend the pre-competition briefing session. The organizers will address questions related to the conference, design competition, and other relevant matters to help participants gain a better understanding of the competition requirements and create higher-quality works.
    • Time: 3:00–4:00 p.m., November 10, 2025

  • Registration Deadline: November 12, 2025 (23:59)

  • Deadline for Submission: November 28, 2025 (23:59)
  • Submission Method: Please upload the electronic version of the work to OneDrive, and email the shared link to yc58001@um.edu.mo.
  • Rules for File Name: All submitted files must be named in the format of “APacCHRIE 2027 Logo and Mascot Design Competition-Individual/Team Leader Name” (e.g APacCHRIE 2027 Logo Competition for Mascot Design – Chen Dawen)
  • Those who fail to complete registration and submit works according to the above requirements before the deadline will be deemed as invalid submissions (the submission date will be based on the time stamp of receipt) and will not be evaluated.

 

Evaluation Methods and Criteria

  1. The judging panel will be composed of representatives from the host organizer and invited professional design organizations to ensure a fair and professional process.

 Awards and prizes

  • The competition results will be announced in December 2025.
  • There will be a first prize, a second prize, a third prize and several excellent prizes, and all winners will receive corresponding prizes.
