On November 14, 2024, FBA Seminar Series: “Stand together or fall together: how the survival of neighboring restaurants matter?” by Prof. Bo ZHOU was hosted by Professor Anthony Ip Kin WONG from the Department of Integrated Resorts and Tourism Management and delivered by Professor Bo ZHOU from School of Management of Xiamen University.
In the seminar, Professor Bo ZHOU reviewed the industrial cluster effects in the tourism and hospitality context and applied spatial autoregressive methods to empirically evaluate the spillover effects on the survival of restaurants within a reasonable geographical scope in Xiamen. In the seminar, Professor Bo ZHOU elaborated in detail on how the survival status of neighboring restaurants positively influences the survival probability of specific restaurants, as revealed by this research. Finally, Professor Bo ZHOU addressed various questions regarding econometrics and tourism studies during the seminar and shared personal insights.
