FBA Salon Series on Tourism+:‘Yanhuo Chi’: An everyday aesthetic tourism experience was hosted by Prof. Faye Feier CHEN, Assistant Professor of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management on October 16, 2024 and PhD student Jing Jing HU at the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, was invited to be the keynote speaker.
Jing Jing HU shared a qualitative research article titled‘Yanhuo Chi’: An everyday aesthetic tourism experience under the guidance of Professor Li MIAO based on her master’s thesis. Firstly, through the introduction of the research background, Jing Jing HU aroused strong interest and resonance among the teachers and students present regarding tourism phenomena related to‘Yanhuo Chi’. Subsequently, through a series of presentations on the theoretical background, methods, and results of the research, the teachers and students present gained a conceptual understanding of‘Yanhuo Chi’ as a tourism experience from an everyday aesthetic perspective and a deep understanding of the research discourse on everyday aesthetics in the East and the West. In the final question-and-answer session, Jing Jing HU shared her personal practical experience in doing qualitative research and had an in-depth discussion with everyone about the research methods in this research context.
This research, titled ‘Yanhuo Chi’: An everyday aesthetic tourism experience was accepted and published by the top international journal “Annals of Tourism Research”.
