On January 14, the UM Open Day attracted many students, parents, alumni and members of the public to visit the University. The Faculty of Business Administration prepared a series of exciting activities for students to get to know more about the Faculty’s teaching environment and practical opportunities.
On the day of the Open Day, activities such as program management consultation and admission seminars were held to help participants better understand the study and career paths of various disciplines in the Faculty of Business Administration. On behalf of the Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Amy Siu Ian SO of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management introduced the Faculty of Business Administration to the delegation of students from Kao Yip Middle School. Prof. Faye Feier CHEN, as the representative of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, also introduced the contents of the Department’s curriculum and shared her teaching experience and insights.
In addition, many participants also visited the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management’s ISCG Gaming Laboratory (Mock Casino), Café Lab, Hospitality Laboratory and Mock Hotel Room to gain a deeper understanding of the practical teaching of the Integrated Resort and Tourism Management major and the course content. Under the guidance of student volunteers, they actively participated in the interactive sessions of the booths, such as room service, coffee making, etc. These practical experiences can provide participants with great inspiration and help for their learning and future career development.
As an important platform for the University to showcase its latest research and teaching achievements, the Open Day not only allowed participants to gain a better understanding of the Faculty of Business Administration and the Integrated Resort and Tourism Management program, but also provided students with an opportunity to interact with professors and other students, as well as allowing more people to understand and recognize the educational philosophy and teaching characteristics of the University of Macau.
