Abstract:
This paper describes the limits of human intelligence and how humans invented artificial intelligence and machine learning. It explores the paradoxical situation that the tools that data scientists have used to develop artificial intelligence are about subjects in which we humans have hard-wired cognitive challenges that mislead us.


Biography:
Prof. Thomas SARGENT was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2011. He is currently the William R. Berkley Professor of Economics and Business of the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, an Honorary Professor at Peking University, and the Honorary Director of the Sargent Institute of Quantitative Economics and Finance at the Peking University HSBC Business School. His areas of expertise include but are not limited to macroeconomics, monetary economics, and time series econometrics.

Prof. SARGENT is a distinguished economist whose groundbreaking research has significantly contributed to the field of economics. His work on rational expectations and macroeconomics has had a profound impact on economic behavior and policy-making. His research findings have been widely cited and applied in economic policy and academic research. He has produced a substantial body of influential research papers which have significantly advanced the understanding of economic behavior, playing a pivotal role in the development of the field. As a foremost figure in contemporary economics, Prof. Thomas SARGENT holds a prestigious position and has far-reaching academic influence.
