On September 12, 2024, the Department of Management and Marketing hosted the annual Global Business Management (GBM) Night. The event began with a warm welcome from Professor Jacky Hong, Head of the Department, emphasizing the value of global business education and the department’s role in nurturing future leaders. Prof. Iris Yuan, Coordinator of the GBM Programme, introduced the programme’s advantages and career prospects. Prof. Javier Cuervo then captivated the audience with reflections on the changing landscape of business education and the GBM programme’s role in shaping competitive professionals.
Two alumni, Anna Chen, a young entrepreneur pursuing a PhD, and Yuki Huang, a management trainee at Air Macau, shared personal stories of how the GBM programme influenced their career paths. Four Year 4 students enlivened the evening with stories of their enriching exchange experiences in the US, Norway, and Austria. Additionally, two PhD students inspired the audience by discussing their international academic journeys in the UK and the US, encouraging younger students to embrace global opportunities.
The night concluded with a relaxed meal, during which students engaged in lively discussions with the guest speakers, exchanging ideas and addressing questions. The evening fostered a strong sense of community and knowledge-sharing, reflecting the spirit of the GBM family.
