Abstract
The main content includes a systematic introduction to the methodological evolution and cutting-edge trends of experimental research in management science, with a focus on the core value of experimental methods in theory building and causal inference. It covers the basic design types of experimental research, including laboratory experiments, field experiments, natural experiments, and their respective applicable scenarios, advantages, and disadvantages. The discussion elaborates on key design principles such as random assignment, manipulation checks, and control of placebo effects, as well as common internal and external validity challenges and their corresponding strategies. The lecture also highlights the latest technological trends, such as the application of neuroscience tools (fMRI, eye-tracking) and big data analytics, to enhance experimental precision and ecological validity. Furthermore, it addresses disciplinary standardization issues, including strengthening theoretical contributions and improving research transparency.
