In September and October 2021, colleagues in FBA have published or have been accepted for

beginning of 2021, we have published or have been accepted for publishing in 2 ABS4*, 12
ABS4, 37 ABS3 and 51 other refereed journal papers.
Prof. Jean Chen and Prof. Zhuo Qiao have received a best paper award for their co-authored
paper at the 11th International Symposium of Corporate Governance.
Prof. Jean Chen has a forthcoming book published by Palgrave.
Three applications for the Specialized Subsidy Scheme for Chinese and Portuguese Bilingual
Talent Training and Cooperation of Education and Research for Macao Higher Education
Institutions of Higher Education Fund have been approved.
One Ph.D. oral defense, two conferences and three distinguished scholar seminars were
organized.

Conferences, Forums and Seminars
The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) from the University of Macau
(UM) and the Guanghua School of Management from Peking University
jointly held an online conference on auditing and public policy in China. The
event was held in preparation for a special issue of the Journal of
Accounting and Public Policy (JAPP) to be published later. During the
conference, over 200 experts and scholars from around the world
exchanged ideas on opportunities and challenges in auditing research in
China.

FBA successfully hosted an SME Business Forum 2021
In line with the Faculty’s strategic plan to serve as a hub to connect various
stakeholders in Macao, the Department of Management and Marketing
from the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) coorganized the ‘SME
Business Forum 2021’ with the Business Research and Training Centre
(BRTC) on October 23rd. The theme of the Forum was ‘Innovation in
SMEs’. The Forum aimed to create a platform for local SMEs to exchange
ideas on business opportunities and challenges that arise from
technological change and innovation. It was well attended by current MBA,
PhD, and DBA students, alumni, and faculty members of DMM.
