The Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management recently held nine internship talks for undergraduate and postgraduate students in collaboration with a number of tourism and hospitality enterprises in order to broaden students’ professional horizons and provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the employment prospects of the tourism and hospitality industries. Under the guidance of Prof. Amy So, Associate Professor of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, the hybrid internship talks brought together nine well-known companies from Macau as well as Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and other Mainland cities, offering students a variety of work opportunities ranging from Front Office to Food & Beverage.

Employers carefully prepared promotional materials on brand culture and vacant information, and students were enthusiastic, actively inquiring about company overview, development possibilities, employee benefits, and other information, and actively pursuing internship opportunities. Furthermore, in order to successfully hold this series of internship talks, the department combines the major’s strong practice and multidisciplinary integration, carefully selects and organizes tourism enterprises and actively seeks more valuable training opportunities for the students. At the same time, the department would like to give special thanks to our industry partners that participated in this year’s internship talks.

Internships are an essential component of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management’s talent training, as well as a crucial means to strengthen students’ practical skill and grow their professional characteristics. The purpose of the internship talk is to create a communication platform for students and related companies, as well as to diversify students’ internship channels and choices. Simultaneously, it is intended that students will be able to consistently strengthen their industry understanding and practical management abilities in integrated resorts, hotels, or other tourism-related companies, paving the road for their own career development plans.
